8th November 2024
The Reds cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win at home against Penrhiwceiber Rangers. Goals from Joe Lloyd, Ethan Cann and Joe Hopkins secured all three points in a dominant display.
The Reds were ahead within the opening three minutes, Ethan Cann finding space on the right before cutting his pass back to Danny Williams. Williams then laid the ball off to the incoming Joe Lloyd who was able to slice his shot past Jacob Ireland.
Williams almost made it two for the Reds, another great run from Cann finding him in the middle of the 6 yard box. Williams then attempted to take the ball around the keeper before seeing the shot blocked off the line.
Bradley Gibbings created a brilliant chance for the Reds, dancing through the opposition with ease - his pass finding Williams whose shot was saved at the near post.
The Reds continued to dominate much of the first half, a big chance for Lloyd to get his second, a fantastic ball from Cann - falling to Lloyd who just failed to connect with the shot.
Cann rose above the rest in the six yard box and converted a fantastic header from a corner to give the Reds a two goal lead just two minutes after the break.
Gibbings saw his shot strike the crossbar just minutes after the second goal. Williams was able to lay off a short pass to the winger in the area who came within inches of making it three.
The Reds continued to create a number of chances in the second half, one of the best coming from a well worked effort which saw Henry Jones’ shot blocked well by the opposition.
Joe Hopkins then made it three for the Reds, a fantastic corner once again, this time flicked on from Sean Cronin, allowing Hopkins to head home from the six yard area.
The Reds then saw the game out with a well controlled end to the second half to secure all three points in a strong performance at Stebonheath Park.
