Our Women’s team are preparing for another season in the Genero Adran South, the second tier of the women’s pyramid in Wales. There has been a lot of continuous work going on behind the scenes as our women’s set up thrives and grows.
The 24/25 campaign was once again one of growing and improving on the pitch. We have also seen big steps taken off the pitch to ensure the growth of our women’s team in the local community.
Speaking about the most recent campaign, Kate shed a light on all of the hard work undertaken across the duration of the season, she said;
“This season has been about laying strong foundations — both on and off the pitch. From a footballing perspective, we’ve made important strides in terms of our performances, structure, and identity within the Adran South. Off the pitch, the growth in support for Llanelli Town Women has been fantastic to see.

Our attendances have risen noticeably, and that reflects the positive direction the club is heading in. We’ve focused a lot on building a strong culture and creating the right environment for long-term progress — and that’s something we’re proud of.”
Secondly, Kate spoke about the growth of the womens team in the community, with connections constantly growing across a number of grassroots teams with the inclusion of mascots from a range of girls teams. Kate highlighted the improvement of our community growth, saying;
“Our connection with the local community has grown stronger this season, and that’s something we see as vital to everything we’re building here. We’ve worked hard to raise awareness of the women’s team in Llanelli, and the response has been brilliant — from grassroots involvement to local supporters turning out on matchdays. The community is starting to really get behind us, and that backing gives the players and staff a huge boost. We want Llanelli Town Women to be a team the town can be proud of.”

The Reds proudly announced the formation of our womens u19’s team ahead of next season with trials already taking place. The formation of an u19’s team allows a clear pathway for those looking to break into our Women’s team, as mentioned by Kate;
“The introduction of the U19s is a massive step for us as a club. It gives us a clear and structured development pathway for young female players in the area, which is so important. It means we can nurture local talent and help them progress all the way to senior football in a Llanelli shirt. It also allows us to embed our values, playing style, and expectations from a younger age. Long term, this will only strengthen the first team and ensure we’re building something sustainable.”
Finally, we looked ahead to next season and when asking Kate about the aspirations of the squad for next season, she concluded with;
“Absolutely — there’s a real hunger in the squad to push on. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but we’re not standing still. Our targets next season are clear: improve our consistency, compete strongly across all competitions, and keep raising standards both individually and collectively.

At the same time, we’ll continue to grow our identity and strengthen the culture within the team. The belief is there, and we’re excited for what lies ahead.”
