An opening goal by Darren Stephenson followed by a hattrick from Elliott Reeves as well as a penalty converted by Joshua Jones sealed a dominant win for the Silkmen.

The Silkmen put themselves ahead within the opening minute of the game. A cross field ball finding Jake Phillips whose cross into the area was tapped home by Darren Stephenson.

Flint continued the heavy pressure on the front foot in the opening five minutes, a pass finding Jake Canavan on the edge of the area whose shot from range was just wide.

Flint continued to be the stronger team in the first quarter of an hour, not allowing any real chances for the Reds whilst also continuing to form some solid attacking sequences.

The visitors had their second just after 20 minutes, a long throw into the area creating a loose ball which was shot at goal before the eventual final touch was turned home by Elliott Reeves.

The Reds’ first real chance of the game came as Joe Lloyd broke into the area and fired an effort at goal – however the shot was easily stopped by Flint keeper Jack Flint.

Flint had their third just two minutes before the break. A great solo strike by Reeves who curled his effort into the bottom left corner from the edge of the 18 yard box.

The Silkmen weren’t finished with their scoring in the first half as Reeves had his hattrick two minutes into stoppage time, a mix up at the back allowed the striker to finish with power.

The Reds started the second half on the front foot – piecing together some solid attacking sequences but not enough to really test Flint in between the sticks.

Rio Booth had a shot on target in the 57th minute, his break into the box allowing space for a shot which was saved well by Flint.

An end to end period of the game saw Flint continue to control much of the game despite second half improvement from the Reds as the game entered the final 20 minutes.

The Silkmen were then awarded a penalty in the 75th minute, a foul by Nelson Sanca on Kenneth Imariagbe forcing the referee to point to the spot.

Joshua Jones then converted from the spot for Flint, his shot originally stopped by Mike Lewis before the ball rolled into the net.

Danny Williams had a great chance on goal five minutes from the end of the 90, his strike from range forcing Flint into a strong save. The Reds then came close once again, a scramble in the box saw the ball cleared off the line.
