After picking up their first point of the season against Colwyn Bay on Saturday, the Reds now face a short trip to local rivals Briton Ferry Llansawel on Tuesday evening.

This will be the second meeting between the sides this campaign, with Ferry having already visited Stebonheath Park earlier in phase one.

Here’s a closer look at our opponents ahead of tomorrow’s clash.

Our Opponents – Briton Ferry Llansawel

Despite winning two out of their opening three games, against both the Reds and reigning champions The New Saints – Ferry are winless in their last four league games.

Ferry hosted Haverfordwest County after their trip to Stebonheath Park and were defeated by a 93rd minute strike courtesy of Alaric Jones.

A draw against Colwyn Bay, followed by a penalty shootout win in the Nathaniel MG Cup against Penybont saw Ferry kick off September on the front foot.

However, Caernarfon produced an emphatic performance and defeated Ferry 2-5 at the Renewable Centre Stadium.

Most recently, Ferry travelled North to take on Bala Town. Despite going behind twice, Ferry salvaged a point from the game courtesy of a 58th minute strike by Ruben Davies.

Players to Watch

Ferry have been ruthless in front of goal this season, netting 14 times as a team. Much of that success has come from their lethal strike partnership.

Tom Walters has been in outstanding form, recording 5 goals and 4 assists. He struck twice against the Reds in the reverse fixture at Stebo and was deservedly named JD Cymru Premier Player of the Month for August after his flying start to the campaign.

Alongside him, Ruben Davies has lit up the top flight with his exciting performances. A constant threat for defenders, he also scored against the Reds at Stebo and has already contributed 7 goals and 1 assist this season.

Both players will be looking to once again cause the Reds problem in front of goal and will be key for Ferry going forward on Tuesday evening.

Reds Recap

The Reds picked up their first point of the campaign on Saturday with a draw against Colwyn Bay. A man of the match display on his home debut from Alex Pennock saw the goalkeeper save a spot kick as well as produce a number of top saves to keep out the visitors.

An improved performance overall from Lee John’s side saw the Reds produce a number of good chances as well as remaining more compact in defence against a top attacking side in the Seagulls.

The Reds will take some momentum into the game following the result on Saturday and will want to improve on the previous result against Ferry back in August.
