Two own goals as well as goals from Jack Bodenham, Danny Davies and a brace from Ben Wilson saw TNS take all three points.

The Reds started the opening five minutes of the game well, keeping a hold of the ball well when in possession.

It was The New Saints who had the first real chance of the game in the 7th minute. Alex Pennock called into action producing a quick reaction save to deny the hosts from close range.

However, just a minute later the Reds failed to defend a ball into the area and Sean Cronins deflection saw the ball find the net past Pennock. Just after the 15 minute mark the hosts were two in front. Ben Wilson firing home.

TNS continued the heavy pressure in their attacking half, a great chance 25 minutes in as Ryan Brobbel broke down the left with some speed and attempted to find a man in the middle – his cross crucially stopped.

The Saints had another chance just after half an hour, a quick break forward resulting in Wilson taking the ball to the byline, his cross stopped by Pennock.

Wilson continued to be the danger man going forward, breaking past the Reds defence on the right hand side before swinging a great ball into the box, however, nobody was there to meet it.

TNS had their third within the first minute of the second half, a ball into the box from a corner headed home by defender Jack Bodenham.

The Saints were awarded a free kick just on the edge of the 18 yard box, Brobbel’s effort striking the woodwork 10 minutes into the second 45.

Jordan Williams came close to scoring the hosts fourth just after the hour mark, a fine strike from range just narrowly over the crossbar.

Wilson made it four for the hosts just before the 70th minute, a break into the box saw the forward finish with a clean strike across goal.

The Reds had their first chance of the second half in the 78th minute, a great run by substitute Brad Gibbings who laid the ball off to Joe Lloyd before his pass found captain Joe Hopkins – his strike from range forcing Nathan Shepperd into a save.

TNS had their fifth seven minutes from the end of the 90, a great ball into the box from a corner with Danny Davies there to meet it, heading past Pennock.

The Saints had a sixth in the 90th minute, a ball into the box turned into his own net by Sam Parsons.
