Our Opponents – The New Saints

As mentioned, 2024/25 was the season of total domestic domination by The New Saints as they collected all three trophies available to them in Welsh football.

They won the JD Cymru Premier by 14 points, despite some rocky form during the campaign. They defeated Aberystwyth Town by a single goal to claim the Nathaniel MG Cup and then defeated Connah’s Quay Nomads 2-1 at Rodney Parade to lift the JD Welsh Cup.

Focusing on their performance so far in the current campaign, TNS currently sit 2nd in the table – 3 points behind undefeated league leaders Caernarfon Town.

The champions were stunned on the opening day being defeated 0-3 by Briton Ferry Llansawel. Wins against Penybont and Connah’s Quay Nomads were then followed by two draws against newly promoted Colwyn Bay and Barry Town United.

In their most recent league game, TNS showed their dominant force and defeated Haverfordwest County 5-0 at home – they are also through to the next round of the Nathaniel MG Cup following a 1-3 win away against the Nomads on Wednesday evening.

Player to Watch

The New Saints continue to recruit a range of exciting talent each summer and continued that trend ahead of the 25/26 campaign. However, their standout man this season so far comes in the form of an experienced servant of the reigning champions.

32 year old Jordan Williams has been on top form this season and has scored six to date – a great number just 6 games into the league campaign. The forward was also on target during TNS’ UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

Having joined the club ahead of the 21/22 season, Williams had previous experience in the English football leagues with the likes of Lincoln City, Rochdale and more.

A danger man going forward – the Reds will have to be at their best to stop the clinical forward this Saturday.
