Despite taking the lead thanks to goals from Danny Williams and Ethan Cann – a brace from Thomas Walters as well as moments of brilliance from Ruben Davies and Corey Hurford were enough to give Briton Ferry all three points against the Reds on Friday evening.
The opening half-chance of the game came as the Reds won a corner within the opening three minutes. A good ball into the area saw Ethan Cann whose header was off target.
The Reds were then awarded a penalty for a handball within the area. Danny Williams stepped up and converted from the spot with power to put Llanelli in front within the opening five minutes.

The Reds remained on the front foot for the 10 minute spell following the opening goal and were then rewarded.
Danny was played in behind an open Ferry defence, supported by both Bradley Gibbings and Ethan Cann in a three on one against Will Fuller.
Danny’s simple pass then found Ethan who was able to finish easily into an open net.
The two goal cushion didn’t last for long as Ferry got one back through Thomas Walters after 19 minutes. A loose ball in the box following a great goal line clearance from Sean Cronin saw Walters convert with ease.

Mike Lewis then produced a great double stop to deny Ruben Davies just after 25 minutes. The forwards shots were stopped well by the keeper.
Ethan then went close to his second just two minutes later, a great ball into the area by Brad, finding Ethan whose shot was stopped by the feet of Fuller.
Despite the Reds’ best efforts to stay ahead, a great solo run into the penalty area by Corey Hurford saw the forward finish in style across goal to bring Ferry level 10 minutes before the break.
The Reds had the final chance of the opening 45, a corner that came close to being turned into the net but failed to be struck by any real power – bringing a chaotic first half to a close with the sides level.

Danny broke free at the edge of the area within the opening three minutes of the second half, his pass finding substitute Morgan Evans whose cross found Ethan – however his volley fell short of the target.
The Reds continued on the front foot, a great pass in behind by Danny finding Ethan whose shot was straight at the keeper.
Ferry then took the lead in the 53rd minute. A great run and piece of skill from Ruben Davies allowed him to curl his effort with power across goal and into the top left corner.
Joe Hopkins produced a crucial piece of defending in the 56th minute, his stop denying Hurford a chance to double the visitors lead.

Ferry doubled their lead just two minutes after the hour mark, a great break into the area from the left hand side by Hurford whose ball into the six yard box was tapped home by Walters.
Rio Booth had a chance to put the Reds in front just minutes after coming on in the 69th minute. His shot was saved well by Fuller with the second chance falling to Danny who was kept out by the Ferry defence.
Ferry continued to defend well heading into the last 10 minutes of the game, the visitors also looked strong on the front foot as they aimed to hold onto their two goal lead.
Despite the Reds’ efforts in the closing stages of the game – including a great ball into the area by Morgan which unfortunately had no final target, Ferry’s defence continued to stand strong and hold on to their two goal lead to take all three points.
