Despite Sean Cronin scoring the Reds’ first goal of the new Cymru Premier campaign – a hattrick from Adam Davies as well as goals from Zack Clarke and Connor Evans sealed a dominant victory for the Cofis on Saturday afternoon.

A bright start for the Reds within the opening three minutes. Ethan Cann produced a quick bit of skill, winning a free kick in a dangerous area.

The set piece found Joe Lloyd who tried his luck from range – his shot blocked well by the Canaries backline. Mike Lewis then produced a strong save at his near post to deny the visitors minutes later.

The Reds had another chance at goal within the opening 10 minutes. Some great play through the middle found Joe Lloyd in space – his shot saved well by Connor Roberts.

The game slowly became a scrappy affair, both sides failing to find a real edge. Caernarfon had a great chance to go ahead just after the 20 minute mark – Zack Clarkes shot not doing enough to find the net.

Mike Lewis produced another strong handed stop to deny Clarke at his near post at the half hour mark. The Reds backline held their own well following a second cross into the area, clearing any danger.

Adam Davies then put the hosts ahead just 7 minutes from the break. Clarke with a cross into the area finding Davies who fired his header into the net from close range.

Caernarfon then doubled their lead in first half stoppage time. Clarke calmly converted his shot from the penalty spot.

Adam Sears then made it three for the hosts just after the break, a ball into the area giving Sears a clear opportunity to finish with his head.

The Cofis quickly made it four just minutes later. A loose ball in the box hitting Davies before landing in the back of the net.

Davies had a chance for his hattrick just before the hour mark, his volley caught by Mike.

The Cofis continued to be relentless with their attacking play, a huge chance fell for Morgan Owen to score the hosts fifth of the afternoon, his shot on an open goal fired over the bar.

Just a minute later, Jamie Baker produced a key stop to deny Davies a chance on goal.

The Cofis then made it five at the 70 minute mark, some great footwork by Davies found substitute Connor Evans who curled his effort into the top right corner.

The first real chance for the Reds in the second half came 6 minutes from the end of the 90. James Lesters shot was saved well by Roberts to give the Reds a corner.

It was then Sean Cronin who was able to get onto the end of a loose ball and convert to score the Reds’ first goal of the new league campaign.

The Cofis added a sixth in the last minute of the game, Davies completing his hattrick.
