Barry dominated the key moments of the game within the opening ten minutes. A number of attacks resulted in a strong show of the Reds defence.

Mike Lewis produced a great save from close range just after 12 minutes to deny the visitors from a corner.

Following a counter attack from the Reds, Theo Wharton then went close at the other end striking his effort on the volley, forcing George Ratcliffe into a save.

However, it was the Linnets who got themselves in front after 17 minutes, a well placed cross from a corner finding Ben Williams-Margeston who was able to head home with power from close range.

Barry continued to cause the Reds a number of problems from corners, Ollie Hulberts header going close to a second for the visitors just after the 20 minute mark.

The game slowly began to even out approaching the half hour mark, the Reds beginning to form some attacking shape but not enough to find a breakthrough.

A fantastic chance for the visitors to go two ahead fell to Ieuan Owen who found himself unmarked in the penalty area – his shot flying off target.

The Linnets doubled their lead just before the break, young forward Ieuan Owen making up for his earlier mistake and finding himself on the scoresheet.

A slow start to the second 45 by both sides, numerous turnovers in play not allowing either side to enjoy possession of the ball.

The Reds’ first chance of the second half came just before the hour mark, Tristan Jenkins’ pass finding Danny Williams whose shot drifted wide.

Ethan Cann provided a fantastic pass to Rio Booth, quickly finding him in behind however the forwards shot drifted across goal, another strong chance for the Reds as the game headed into the final 20 minutes.

Cann continued to be a threat against the Barry defence, his break in behind slowed by heavy pulling of the shirt – despite the referee’s advantage no breakthrough could be found.

Mike Lewis produced an incredible stop to deny the visitors a third goal, the keeper got down quickly to stop the effort at point blank range.

Barry held on strongly and saw out the remaining minutes of the game. A better second half from the Reds but the Linnets first half double saw them deservedly earn all three points at Stebo.
